I would like to share the history and legacy of SafeLase Cosmetic Laser Training. It all started nearly 30 years ago in Barcelona, Spain, when we met two young men, Steven Frost and Gary Casteneda. They brought our vision for a laser training program to their boss, Jane Wurwand, one of the most successful skin care professionals in the world and the founder of the Dermalogica Skin Care line. Steven and Gary opened the Dermalogica Academy of Manhattan with Jane, and she gave us her blessing to teach at their first esthetics school. This partnership marked the beginning of our longstanding commitment to excellence in cosmetic laser training.
Safelase Institute has become the gold standard of postgraduate laser training for medical professionals and licensed skin therapists. Steven Frost, Dermalogica Academy
In 2010, I added aesthetic medicine to my practice and quickly recognized the need for proper laser training beyond a single day of instruction. I enrolled in the two-week program at SafeLase Institute under Leon and Barbara Prete, which proved essential for mastering laser physics and patient safety.
The course provided comprehensive education on wavelengths, parameters, and candidate selection, emphasizing that incorrect laser use can have serious consequences.
